Media Masochism

Some poor soul liveblogged Fox News’ election coverage from 5:15 a.m. until 11:02 p.m. It’s actually pretty funny and worth partially reading. I warn you though that the constant stream of bullshit starts to have kind of a numbing effect on you pretty quickly, and you’re just having the information relayed to you. It reminds me of a Washington Post magazine article early this year where journalist Gene Weingarten needlessly subjected himself to 24 uninterrupted hours of news coverage.

Both stunts are kind of like “Super Size Me,” or maybe a David Blaine stunt, in that the health risks probably aren’t worth gaining the information we all already knew.
