Saddness…

It seems that a lot of people at  Wizards of the Coast are being axed because of the economic meltdown:

Randy Buehler (VP of digital gaming)
Andrew Finch (director of digital games)
Stacy Longstreet (senior art director)
Julia Martin (editor)
William Meyers (creative manager, digital design)
Dave Noonan (game designer)
Jennifer Paige (online community manager)
Jennifer Powers (marketing)
Jonathan Tweet (game designer)

Tweet – as you may know – was one of the designers of D&D 3.0. My heart goes out to these people – and anybody else – anywhere – who’s on the chopping block because of the down turn.

I wonder what this means for D&D Insider?

Personally, I blame George W. Bush.

Wait, Noonan is going? Isn’t he one of the *huge* guys on 4th Edition? And co-producer of the podcasts, to boot!

That’s the biggest name on here for me. I mean, I’m quite sure he and Tweet will do well elsewhere, they’re talented game designers with a wealth of experience and credits, but man, I thought Noonan was one of *the* guys at WOTC right now.
